Adventure Canada is offering two 2027 expeditions through the Northwest Passage aboard Ocean Victory, combining Arctic exploration with Inuit culture, historic sites and wildlife encounters. The voyages are designed around the region’s geography and communities, with Inuit cultural educators, expedition guides and local experts contributing to the onboard and shore programme.

The first itinerary, Into the Northwest Passage, operates from August 25th to September 10th, 2027. The 17-day expedition begins in Toronto and concludes in Yellowknife, with charter flights connecting travellers with the Arctic portion of the voyage. Fares are currently listed from US$18,995 to US$37,495 per person, based on double occupancy.

The reverse itinerary, Out of the Northwest Passage, runs from September 10th to 26th, 2027, travelling from Yellowknife to Toronto. It is similarly priced from US$18,995 to US$37,495 per person based on double occupancy.

The voyages trace a route between Greenland and Nunavut, combining glacial landscapes, iceberg-filled waters and Arctic wildlife with locations associated with the history of polar exploration. Planned experiences include visits to Inuit communities, historic expedition sites and environmentally significant waters such as Tallurutiup Imanga, while the programme also incorporates the cultural traditions, language, arts and contemporary life of Inuit communities.

The itinerary includes Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as locations connected with the search for the Northwest Passage and the Franklin expedition. The crossing of the Arctic Circle and navigation through the Canadian Arctic add further geographical and historical elements to the voyage.

Ocean Victory is a purpose-built expedition vessel designed for small-ship exploration. Adventure Canada lists capacity at 175 passengers, with all cabins offering ocean views and most featuring balconies. The ship also incorporates an X-BOW design and low-energy systems intended to improve efficiency during expedition operations.

The Northwest Passage programme reflects Adventure Canada’s approach of combining expedition cruising with cultural interpretation. Rather than treating the passage solely as a historic maritime route, the company places emphasis on the contemporary Inuit communities whose traditional homeland encompasses much of the region and on the knowledge developed through generations of living and travelling in the Arctic.

Both 2027 departures are currently advertised with a 25% saving on berth costs until August 18th, 2026, subject to the applicable terms.
