P&O Cruises has announced that its LNG-powered cruise ship, Iona, will undergo her inaugural refit in October 2025.
The refurbishment, initially planned for March 2025, was rescheduled due to shipyard availability constraints. As a result, 2 voyages have been canceled: a 14-night Canary Islands cruise departing on October 4 and a 7-night Northern Europe cruise departing on October 18.
Passengers affected by these cancellations have been offered full refunds and a GBP 100 per person onboard credit for rebooking, applicable to the first two guests per cabin.
Iona, delivered in 2020 by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, and entering service in 2021, is part of Carnival Corporation’s Excel Class. The vessel is scheduled to resume operations on October 25, 2025, with a 7-night cruise to Spain and France departing from Southampton UK.
