HAL-Holland America Line scheduled a cruise commemorating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.

On July 4, 2025, ms Zuiderdam embarked on a 7‑day "Stars & Stripes Voyage" departing roundtrip from Boston - the cradle of American independence.

The ship’s itinerary traces the legacy of early America: a sail into Boston Harbor to mark Independence Day with fireworks from the sundeck; a call at Saint John, New Brunswick; a rare entry at Norfolk, Virginia, offering historical shore excursions to Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown; and an overnight stay in New York City timed with the Sail 4th 250 tall‑ships gathering, culminating in a dramatic farewell past the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on July 8.

Additional hour‑long excursions in New York include guided explorations of Ellis Island and aboard a harbor craft for panoramic viewings of Lady Liberty.

Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line, described the voyage as an intimate passage through the nation’s defining moments at sea and ashore—framing each port of call as a living page of history and punctuating the journey with Fourth‑of‑July celebrations woven into the ship’s daily life.

Fares for this commemorative voyage begin at US$1,459 per person, double occupancy, inclusive of port fees and taxes.
