RCI-Royal Caribbean’s newest vessel Legend of the Seas, the third in the ICON-class series, slipped into water for the first time late on Friday, August 29th when she floated out of the drydock hall at Meyer Turku’s yard in Turku (Finland).

This milestone signals the completion of exterior works and the beginning of the outfit phase, where interiors and technical systems will be fitted.

Professionals from Meyer Turku, Royal Caribbean, and associated partners continue to refine finishing touches, including preparing 2,805 staterooms and outfitting public spaces and amenities. The float-out also cleared the deck for keel laying on the fourth Icon-class vessel.

The Legend of the Seas is slated to enter service in summer 2026, with a debut season operating Western Mediterranean sailings out of Barcelona—marking the first time an Icon-class ship will be based in Europe—before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale for Caribbean voyages.
