Storyland Studios has entered into a design partnership with MSC Cruises and the MSC Foundation to create a new pavilion at the Marine Conservation Center on Ocean Cay, Bahamas.
The facility, officially opened in April 2025, currently supports research, education, and coral restoration works.
The Marine Conservation Center serves as a base for marine biologists, scientists, students, and visitors, and includes interactive pavilions, a lecture hall, a bio-lab, and a land-based coral nursery. It is also the operational hub for the MSC Foundation’s Super Coral Reefs programme.
Storyland will apply its expertise in destination and experience design to construct the pavilion so that it engages visitors, donors, and partners alike. The goal is to translate scientific work into accessible and inspiring visitor experiences, reinforcing the MSC Foundation’s marine conservation mission.
The design firm has described its mandate as aligning with MSC’s destination development philosophy. Views, pathways, and visitor flow will be considered in order to support both storytelling and environmental stewardship, in keeping with the environmental context of the site.
MSC Foundation leadership has noted that the pavilion will strengthen the role of the Marine Conservation Center as an educational hub, enabling tens of thousands of Ocean Cay visitors annually to engage more deeply with coral ecosystems and conservation challenges.
