Princess Cruises has launched Star Princess, the fleet's newest SPEHERE-Class and the 17th vessel.

The ship departed from Barcelona on her inaugural 11-day Western Mediterranean voyage.

The 177,800-ton ship accommodates 4,300 passengers and introduces 30 distinct dining and bar venues, expanded entertainment concepts, and refined accommodation options. The vessel’s first itinerary features calls at Marseille, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Naples, Sicily, Cartagena, and Gibraltar, before returning to Barcelona. Following her Mediterranean debut, Star Princess will undertake a transatlantic voyage to Fort Lauderdale, where she will be officially named on November 6th, 2025, before beginning her winter Caribbean season.

Through the winter and spring, the ship will operate a series of Caribbean itineraries before transiting the Panama Canal to homeport Seattle WA for a summer 2026 season based on 7-day Alaskan Inside Passage cruises.

The shipboard offerings include Spellbound by Magic Castle, a speakeasy-inspired experience celebrating the golden age of magic and illusion, and two new original theatrical productions — Meridian and Illuminate — staged in the technologically advanced Princess Arena. Beyond the main venues, guests can enjoy deck parties, musical performances in the Piazza, and the new Candlelight Concert Series under the ship’s glass-domed observation space.

Accommodation highlights include over 1,500 balcony staterooms and the Sanctuary Collection, offering premium suites and mini-suites with exclusive amenities. Culinary offerings span 30 venues, featuring high-end dining collaborations, expanded lounges, and the Love Line Premium Liquor Collection curated in partnership with celebrity collaborators. Wellness and recreation spaces include a two-level Lotus Spa, fitness facilities, pools, a sports court, and expansive outdoor lounges.

Star Princess combines the brand’s established hallmarks of comfort and hospitality with advanced maritime design, marking a new chapter in Princess Cruises’ evolution as it continues to refine the modern cruise experience.
