MSC Meraviglia modifies Bahamas schedule following speed limitations

   November 29, 2025 ,   Accidents

MSC Cruises has adjusted the itinerary of MSC Meraviglia after planned maintenance reduced the vessel’s operating speed ahead of its November 30th Bahamas departure from New York. Passengers were informed on November 24th that the reduced speed would affect key port calls.

The call at Port Canaveral on December 2nd has been rescheduled from early afternoon to early evening, a change that removes sufficient time ashore for excursions, all of which have therefore been cancelled. The arrival at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve on December 3rd has also been pushed back by two hours, although the stay has been extended into the evening to retain a full day’s call. Visits to Nassau and the original return date to New York on December 7th remain unchanged.

The vessel has encountered propulsion-related limitations in the past, including a cancelled itinerary in May 2025 when underwater repair work took place in Portland, Maine. In response to the latest adjustments, MSC Cruises is providing automatic refunds for cancelled shore excursions and offering onboard credit of US$100 per guest, up to US$200 per stateroom.
