In the programme for the 2026 season, tickets have been released for the destination cruises of the Swedish-flagged vessel Birka Gotland, which operates as the Baltic Sea’s sole purpose-built cruise ship, principally linking Stockholm with Mariehamn and Visby. In addition to her regular calls at established ports, the schedule is to be expanded with extended voyages to several Baltic destinations including the High Coast of Sweden, Bornholm and Riga, and, for the first time, with two late-summer departures that will include a call at Gdańsk in Poland. These Gdańsk sailings are set to depart on August 30th and September 13th, 2026, timed to coincide with the seasonal transition from late summer to the onset of autumn.
During the harbour stay in Gdańsk, a range of shore excursions will be available, permitting guests to link visits to the Hanseatic port with the neighbouring Baltic resort of Sopot, to observe local amber craftsmanship and to sample regional refreshments in historic surroundings.
The ship’s operator, Gotland Alandia Cruises, has based its 2026 sailing season on the positive response to an extended Visby season in 2025. On that basis, sailings from the spring through to early autumn will continue, and the itinerary ashore will be adapted with additional destinations suited to families with children. These enhancements follow observed increases in family travel aboard Birka Gotland in recent seasons, and will be integrated alongside the vessel’s ongoing service between Stockholm, Mariehamn and Visby.
The full suite of destination cruises and associated excursion offerings for 2026, including the new Gdańsk departures, are now open for reservations.
