Silversea has completed an extensive refit and refurbishment of the cruise vessel Silver Spirit, bringing the line’s S.A.L.T. culinary programme aboard for the first time alongside new dining venues and upgraded public areas.

Following the revitalisation project, the vessel has resumed service in Northern Europe. The works concentrated on broadening the ship’s culinary offering, modernising entertainment spaces, and introducing a redesigned pool deck centred on a more contemporary leisure experience.

Among the principal additions is the introduction of the S.A.L.T. programme — Sea and Land Taste — a concept built around destination-focused cuisine reflecting the regions visited throughout each voyage.

New venues introduced aboard include S.A.L.T. Kitchen, where menus are shaped by the destinations featured on the itinerary, S.A.L.T. Bar, serving regional spirits and cocktails, and S.A.L.T. Lab, offering cooking classes centred on local culinary traditions.

Bert Hernandez, President of Silversea, described the completion of the refurbishment as a significant development for the fleet, noting that the renewed onboard experience had been designed to combine relaxed sophistication with immersive dining and destination-oriented discovery. He further indicated that the updated spaces and refined culinary concepts were intended to enhance the guest experience as the vessel commenced its Northern Europe programme.

A substantial element of the refurbishment involved the creation of Riviera, a redesigned poolside venue conceived as an all-day outdoor social and dining area. The space now incorporates upgraded seating, sun loungers, daybeds, and expanded wellness and recreation facilities, including a golf putting green, golf simulator, and outdoor fitness amenities.

Dining at Riviera now includes lighter casual fare such as salads, wraps, seafood dishes, burgers, and plant-based selections, supported by an expanded beverage programme featuring Mediterranean-style cocktails, wines, Champagne, and low- and non-alcoholic alternatives.

Elsewhere aboard, the Venetian Lounge has undergone a broader modernisation programme, including new carpeting, reupholstered seating, updated drapery, and the installation of an LED wall as part of an enhanced entertainment system.

Following completion of the refit, Silver Spirit has commenced a summer programme of Northern Europe sailings, with itineraries covering Norway’s southern fjords, the Baltic, the British Isles, and Western Europe. Later in the year, the vessel is scheduled to undertake Grand Voyage Mediterranean, a 50-day sailing departing Lisbon and calling at 40 destinations across 12 countries, including ports in Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Spain, and Italy.
