Nicko Cruises has expanded its 2027 programme of event and theme cruises, combining river voyages with cultural, culinary and musical experiences across the Rhine, Danube, Rhône and Seine.
Among the new additions is an 8-day hiking itinerary on the Danube aboard Bolero, scheduled for spring and autumn 2027. Led by an experienced hiking guide, the cruise will explore landscapes and cultural sites in Central Europe, including the UNESCO-listed Wachau region, Vienna’s surrounding hills, Budapest’s City Forest and the Ysper Gorge in Lower Austria’s Waldviertel.
The 2027 programme will also introduce a 4-day SingAlong Advent cruise aboard Rhein Symphonie, operating round trip from Cologne to Mainz. The itinerary will centre on communal performances of Christmas songs, combined with visits to seasonal markets in Mainz and Heidelberg and cruises through the winter landscapes of the Rhine, including its castles and riverside villages.
Nicko Cruises will continue its culinary programme with the YouDinner gourmet cruise, while passengers interested in crime stories can join the Krimi total Dinner concept.
Music will remain another major component of the programme. Schlager Magic will feature songs associated with performers including Roland Kaiser and Helene Fischer, while a new 3-day cruise dedicated to international hits will be introduced in 2027. Other event voyages will include the Rhine in Flames fireworks programme and itineraries coinciding with the Basel Tattoo.
The line will additionally offer 8- to 10-day themed cruises covering subjects such as true crime and wine. The True Crime Cruise on the Rhine will examine real criminal cases, while Wine and Pleasure itineraries will focus on established wine-producing regions along the Rhine, Danube and Rhône.
The programme reflects Nicko Cruises’ approach of combining conventional river cruising with destination-based activities and specialist themes, allowing passengers to explore European waterways through specific cultural, culinary, musical and outdoor interests.
