Marella Cruises has announced its summer 2028 programme, introducing 6 new itineraries, including repositioning voyages, and adding Patras in Greece as a new port of call. Bookings for the season will open on October 15th, 2026, with the new departures scheduled to begin in April 2028.

Marella Explorer will visit Patras for the first time from July 2028 as part of the 7-night Grecian Gems itinerary, operating from the ship’s homeport of Corfu. Greece’s third-largest city offers access to historic landmarks, including the Church of St Andrew, as well as views across the Gulf of Patras.

Meanwhile, the adults-only Marella Explorer 2 will operate the new 7-night Spanish Shores itinerary from Málaga, Spain, beginning in June 2028. The voyage will include calls in Gibraltar, Ibiza Town, Mahón in Menorca, Palma de Mallorca and Cartagena, before returning to Málaga.

The programme will also feature 4 repositioning cruises beginning in April 2028. Marella Explorer will operate two sailings to Corfu: a 10-night voyage from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and an 11-night departure from Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Marella Discovery 2 will offer a 5-night Flavours of the Mediterranean cruise from Palma de Mallorca to Dubrovnik, Croatia. The adults-only Marella Explorer 2 will undertake a 13-night Transatlantic Treasures voyage from Barbados to Málaga, while Marella Voyager will operate a 13-night Atlantic Horizons sailing from Barbados to Palma de Mallorca.

The repositioning voyages will include additional entertainment, such as guest speakers, special shows, new showcases and tribute performances.

Other vessels in the fleet will continue operating from established European homeports. Marella Discovery and Marella Voyager will be based in Palma de Mallorca, while Marella Discovery 2 will operate from Dubrovnik.

Marella Cruises will also expand its cruise-and-stay programme, offering 119 hotels across Mallorca, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Málaga. The packages will be available to customers travelling from 22 airports in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Chris Hackney, chief executive of Marella Cruises, said the programme built on demand for the company’s established homeports and Eastern Mediterranean itineraries. He also noted the return to Málaga for another summer season and the introduction of Patras as part of the line’s efforts to broaden its destination offering and provide more cruise-and-stay options.

The company includes tips and service charges in its standard all-inclusive fares. Prices for the Grecian Gems summer 2028 itineraries start at GBP 1,966, with bookings opening on October 15th, 2026.
