The British Virgin Islands (BVI) welcomed its first cruise liners since Hurricane Irma.

Marella Celebration and Marella Discovery visited the territory’s Tortola Pier Park. They were formally welcomed by BVI government delegation including premier Orlando Smith.

Virgin Holidays launched new Caribbean recovery effort via partnership with UB40. The band encourages tourists to return to the region after the devastating hurricanes of this September.

UB40 frontman, Ali Campbell, said their music was inspired by the beautiful Caribbean islands and putting a new meaning to the lyrics of ‘Come Back Darling’ had been a brilliant experience. He added they hoped it landed the message among the Great British public that Caribbean locals did want them to ‘come back’.
