Following weeks of intense voting, the Isle of Wight dancing man came top of national poll to find 2018 UK Tourism Superstar.
Red Funnel’s Jim O’Reilly was crowned Visit England Tourism Superstar in the vote organised by Daily Mirror. Jim beat nine others to the top spot, seeing more than 20,500 votes cast, which is the most ever in the history of the competition.
Jim, who comes from Cowes, regularly greets travelers in his job as marshall at line’s Southampton car ferry. However, he goes the extra mile and has become popular as ‘the dancing man’.
54-year-old Jim, famed for his great ‘disco’ dance moves when directing vehicles on and off East Cowes to Southampton ferry route, won the hearts of thousands of visitors using the Red Funnel crossing.
