The total 65 cruise ship visits marked the port's 6th consecutive record. Continued growth is expected with 86 visits scheduled for 2019-2020 summer season.

With huge liners such as Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas, the visits are a boost for the economy and provide easy holiday options for locals.

This season saw the first international roundtrip cruise from Adelaide when Golden Princess headed to New Zealand and then sailed back.

Princess Cruises announced it will have 3 international round trip voyages from Adelaide during next season: 17-night New Zealand and 18-night South Pacific trips aboard Golden Princess, and 55-night trip aboard Sun Princess, visiting Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Seychelles, Tanzania, South Africa, Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius.
