Two Passengers Medevaced From Carnival Pride

A man and a woman have been medically evacuated from a CCL-Carnival ship off Virginia Beach coast Monday morning, April 30.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads have been contacted at 2:30 AM by the captain of Carnival Pride to report 2 passengers needing medical evacuation.

The 69-year-old woman has suffered a heart attack, while the 56-year-old man has suffered a seizure.

MH-60 Jayhawk Air Station Elizabeth City helicopter was launched to assist and met with the cruise liner approx 9 miles off the Virginia Beach coast and hoisted the passengers and a nurse aboard.

They were later transported for treatment to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
