EVP, Chief Revenue Officer of AFAR Media Ellen Asmodeo-Giglio and Editor-in-Chief of Travel Weekly UK Lucy Huxley will both share the role of godmother for the newbuild.
At the forefront of travel industry, the two women are seasoned travelers with almost 50 years of combined expertise from consumer and travel trade perspectives. With the UK and US as two major markets for the line, they were also chosen to represent the ship on both sides of the Atlantic.
The two godmothers will officially christen the vessel in Southampton UK on August 28. Following the ceremony, Azamara Pursuit sets sail for an afternoon event in Cherbourg. The complimentary trip will offer all 690 passengers the change to experience a bespoke performance.
The voyage will end with White Night celebration and a feast served poolside with dancing late into the night. Azamara Pursuit will be the first ship in the fleet to boast godmothers.
