Over the next couple of months, World Dream will offer multiple voyages from Shenzhen, such as 2-night weekend itineraries with departures on Sept 21 and Nov 23, offering passengers "staycation at sea", away from the hustle of the city, as well as a 5-night trip departing Nov 18 to Danang and Halong Bay.

Genting Cruise Lines, through the Star Cruises brand, was the first international cruise company to homeport in Shenzhen upon the opening of Shekou Cruise Homeport via the deployment of SuperStar Virgo from November 2016 through March 2017 covering 27 cruises during this period. Shekou Cruise Homeport also first invited Dream Cruises in June 2018 when Genting Dream made an inaugural visit during the Cruise Carnival of Shenzhen.
