Princess Cruises Bases Two Ships in Singapore

Diamond Princess arrived today, December 19, in Singapore from Japan and joined sistership Sapphire Princess for their homeporting season through March 2019. It is the first time that Princess Cruises bases two ships in port of Singapore. Sapphire Princess arrived earlier, on November 28.

Sapphire Princess is homeporting in Singapore for her 5th season and will offer 3- to 13-day Southeast Asian cruises. Over the Christmas and New Year period, the vessel will also embark on Grand Asia voyage from Singapore to Shanghai. Sapphire Princess will then be sailing in the region until the summer season when she will sail to Europe.

For Christmas, Diamond Princess offers a 10-day roundtrip itinerary from Singapore visiting Kota Kinabalu, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Ko Samui. The 10-day New Year itinerary sails from Singapore to Bali, Port Klang, Penang and Phuket.

In 2019, Sapphire Princess is due to return to Singapore for her 6th homeporting season which will include an exciting cruise to enjoy the Annular Solar Eclipse from Straits of Malacca on December 26, 2019. The voyage to experience this natural wonder departs on December 17, 2019.

Diamond Princess is scheduled to drydock in Singapore prior to its return to Japan in February 2019 for her 6th season, sailing roundtrip from Kobe and Tokyo (Yokohama). Ship's March-November 2019 season offers 60 departures on 40 itineraries, visiting a total of 41 destinations in 7 countries, more ports of call than ever before. Offerings also include 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites and 9 late night ports of call.
