First Steel Cut for Spirit of Adventure

A steel cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 27, for Saga Cruises’ 2nd bespoke-built boutique ship, Spirit of Adventure. This follows the first newbuild, Spirit of Discovery, that will be launched in July 2019.

The event took place at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg to mark the beginning of construction of the 999-passenger vessel. Spirit of Adventure is scheduled to start sailing from Dover UK in August 2020.

The ship’s contemporary look is being masterminded by AD Associates, a top British design agency whose talented collective boasts an impeccable hospitality and travel portfolio.

Spirit of Adventure will be 58,250 GT, 774.3 feet (236 m) in length with a beam of 102.4 feet (31 m).

She will sail from Dover UK in August 2020 with itineraries featuring the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, and the Norwegian Fjords.

Spirit of Adventure will carry 505 crew members and 999 guests, ensuring high levels of service.
