Carnival Ecstasy Arrives in Jacksonville After Accident

A Carnival Cruise Line's ship carrying injured vacationers arrived at Jaxport cruise terminal Thursday morning, June 27, in Jacksonville.

According to Florida deputies, several people were hurt after a tour bus taking Carnival Ecstasy passengers on an excursion crashed in the Bahamas Monday morning, June 24. 

32 guests were onboard the bus at the time of the accident. The injuries of four passengers were too severe to be treated in the Bahamas and those were flown back to Florida USA and treated in Fort Lauderdale.

According to BSO Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane, three of the four patients had sustained "serious injuries ranging from fractures of the arms and legs to internal injuries and possible paralysis. The fourth patient’s injuries were minor. All four patients were transported to Broward Health Fort Lauderdale. All of the patients had been "conscious and speaking to paramedics."

The single-vehicle crash is still under investigation.
