Ponant Announces New Gourmet Cruises

Ponant and Relais & Chateaux announced their exciting food partnership for 2020. The luxury French cruise company and the 5-star hotel group collaborated to create 3 gourmet voyages for 2020, with more expected to follow in 2021. A trio of new itineraries are on sale and already available to book.

The Relais & Chateaux chefs, who will be onboard the Ponant cruise ships throughout the sailings, will coordinate 2 gala dinners, and create 2 new dishes for the occasion. Passengers will be able to attend cookery classes, lectures, and a culinary demonstration.

Depending on the itinerary, the chef may be able to invite a few travellers to accompany him to the market and meet local producers.

Ponant's 3 culinary cruises include:

  1. Treasures of Brittany. On September 20, 2020, the Michelin-star Relais & Chateaux’s Chef Mathieu Guibert will be onboard Le Jacques Cartier for a 7-night cruise along the coastline of Breton. Guests will be able to discover its many sites, including the Gulf of Morbihan, the Ponant Islands, Port-Navalo, Hoedic, Houat, Ouessant, Belle-Île-en-Mer. Prices start from GBP 4,067 pp.
  2. The Canary Islands & Cape Verde. Passengers will sail 10 nights (October 11-21, 2020) aboard Le Dumont D’Urville from Portugal to Senegal with Relais & Chateaux’s Chef, Federico Lopez Arcay. After Lisbon, the cruise ship will head to Funchal before sailing to the Atlantic Islands, visiting the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. Highlights also include Tenerife, Mindelo, Santiago, and historic Dakar. Prices start from GBP 3,888 pp.
  3. China and Vietnam. Passengers will embark on Le Laperouse in the megalopolis of Shanghai, for a 10-night Asian journey that will take them to Halong Bay. Guests will discover Unesco World Heritage sites from October 28 to November 7, 2020. Prices start from GBP 4,067 pp.
