After 6 weeks at Blohm + Voss shipyards in Hamburg, Germany, ms Amera left drydock to join the fleet of Phoenix Reisen.
Within the transformations made to the vessel, which features a capacity for 800 guests, areas were modernized and rebuilt, and all staterooms, outdoor spaces, and bars were redesigned.
The cruise ship was part of the fleet of HAL-Holland America Line, where it sailed as "ms Prinsendam" from 2002 through July 1, 2019, the day it was bought by the German company. The liner was launched in 1988 as "Royal Viking Sun" and was nicknamed by HAL "Elegant Explorer".
The first trip of MS Amera on her debut with Phoenix Reisen begins on August 21 from Bremerhaven to navigate Norwegian waters.
