Some of the crew of the TUI-owned liner Mein Schiff 3 are finally on their way home. On Friday, May 8, around 190 crew had been bused to Hamburg Germany. On Saturday afternoon, May 9, TUIfly-owned aircraft started repatriation flights from Hamburg Airport to Kiev Ukraine and Tunis Tunisia.

During the past few weeks, there has been a lot of attention around the TUI Schiff 3 vessel. After a crew tested COVID-positive on April 30, the entire ship (carrying a total of 2899 crew) was quarantined in Port Cuxhaven (Germany).

Via approval of the responsible authorities, the 8 infected crew were brought ashore to a quarantine station on Thursday, May 7. The first Coronavirus patient is still hospitalized in HELIOS Klinik Cuxhaven. TUI said that all nine patients are doing well and are symptom-free.

You will find more details on the Mein Schiff 3's Coronavirus incident on the ship's CruiseMinus page.
