CCL-Carnival Cruise Line completes embarkation of 160 crew on 13 ships off Nassau Bahamas

13 CCL-Carnival Cruise Line "Fun Ships" arrived at Nassau Harbour, The Bahamas on Saturday, November 28, for crewing, the Bahamian Ministry of Transport revealed in a statement.

The crew arrived on a private charter flight from Amsterdam Holland at 6:30 AM and complied with medical, customs and immigration requirements including a negative COVID test before entry. 

The crew members were transferred from Nassau Airport directly to the harbor and were ferried by boats directly to the cruise liners. The operation took ~8 hours and was completed in accordance with the safety protocols. 

CCL completed the routine embarkation of 160 crew on 13 vessels anchored off Nassau.

According to the Ministry of Transport, every aspect of the plan, from the arrival of the individuals through to their departure, had been reviewed and agreed upon with the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, The Bahamas Maritime Authority, and the Port Department. 

"All measures, including hygiene, masking, distancing, disinfection, cleaning, were specified and compliance was carefully monitored.”

The transfer operation included embarking crew members only. No one from the shipboard personnel had been permitted to leave the vessel or to have direct contact with shore-side personnel.
