Silversea's new gourmet dining experiences for European Grand Voyage 2022

The ultra-premium travel company Silversea Cruises introduced a S.A.L.T.-inspired festive feast to showcase 3 of the most appetising culinary traditions in Europe.

S.A.L.T. is the brand’s new culinary program to be launched with Silver Moon (2020 newbuild) with 3 recipes from celebrity chefs. They represent typical fare from Faroe Islands (Denmark), Sicily Island (Italy) and Malaga Spain. These 3 destinations are among the total 72 to be visited on Silversea's first-ever European Grand Voyage in 2022.

FAROE ISLANDS: Traditional roast duck with prunes and port by chef Teitur Christensen. As Silver Moon sails north, guests will be able to discover the remote Faroe Islands. Teitur Christensen, a chef at Futastova and Aarstova, classic restaurants in the old part of Torshavn, Streymoy Island, shares a recipe for the traditional dish of roast duck, ranking alongside goose as the festive favourite of the archipelago.

MALAGA, SPAIN: Malaga-style Sardines by chef Alexandra Raij. On May 3, 2022, Silver Moon is scheduled to call in Malaga during the European Grand Voyage, taking passengers deep into the heart of Spanish culture. Chef Alexandra Raij, a specialist in Spanish fare and owner of 3 Spanish-inspired restaurants in NYC New York, recommends Malaga-style sardines as one of the staple dishes of the region.

SICILY, ITALY: Buccellati (Fig and nut-filled holiday cookies) by chef Fabrizia Lanza. Passengers sailing aboard the European Grand Voyage 2022 will be able to develop an appreciation for Sicily’s tastes, particularly the popular sweet pastries and cakes of the island during calls in Giardini Naxos and Palermo, on April 18 and 19. Sicilian chef Fabrizia Lanza, running Anna Tasca Lanza cooking school and culinary centre on the famed estate of her family, Casa Vecchie, featured on Silversea’s S.A.L.T. Lab Radio. She shares a recipe for traditional Buccellati. Her fig and nut-filled cookies are prepared throughout Sicily in a wealth of variations during the holidays.

Connecting Silversea's Mediterranean Grand Voyage and Northern Europe Grand Voyage, the B2B "European Grand Voyage" departs from Piraeus-Athens Greece on March 30, 2022.

Silver Moon's 90-day itinerary has a total of 72 ports/destinations (22 different countries), features 7 exclusive events and 8 port overnights in cities like Sorrento Italy, Bordeaux France, St Petersburg Russia, Istanbul Turkey, before arriving in Stockholm Sweden on June 28.

Dedicated S.A.L.T. experiences will enable vacationers to travel deeper through culinary insights, including a trip to Benanti Winery (from Giardini-Naxos, Sicily) where they will explore the vineyards prior to a traditional Sicilian lunch and sample the winery's finest vintages.
