Paul Gauguin Cruises opens bookings for its 2022 voyages

From the Society to the Cook Islands, passing through Tahiti, the Tuamotus, the Marquesas, Paul Gauguin Cruises' teams who have been experts in the region for 20+ years designed 5 tailor-made itineraries discovering the wonders of the terrestrial paradise.

Multiple activities are offered onboard, such as swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, diving or even snorkeling. The program also includes a privileged moment on the private islet of Motu Mahana, off Tahaa Island, where a traditional Polynesian barbecue is prepared.

Onboard ms Paul Gauguin, refined gastronomy and premium service are inspired by the Polynesian way of life. With 166 staterooms and suites, the vessel has been specially designed to sail in Polynesia: the shallow draft allows her to get as close as possible to the lagoons.

At the instigation of its new parent company PONANT, Paul Gauguin completed a major renovation of its cruise ship after 2 months of work. The interior design of the ship has been rethought in collaboration with Studio Jean-Philippe Nuel, evoking the elegance of the South Pacific islands and the South Seas. All public spaces, staterooms, and suites have been renovated, adding warm woodworks. Lagoon shades, a range of green and natural tones, warm colours, woven textiles, and vegetal patterns are the hallmarks of the refined decor. Traditional artworks and printed exotic panoramics add to the Polynesian atmosphere.

True to the commitment to responsible tourism, PONANT made major investments to equip the vessel with the latest technology in environmental preservation. The use of heavy fuel oil has been eliminated since 2019 in favour of LS-MGO (Low-Sulphur Marine Gas Oil) - a more environmentally friendly fuel, and carbon emissions have been offset by ~150%. Optimisations relating to energy and water treatment have also been carried out during the renovation.
