The UK-based Riviera River Cruises (fleet of boats under charter) announced that it will restart European voyages in July 2021 with departures on Portugal’s Douro River.

The company's first departure (8-day "Douro, Porto and Salamanca River Cruise" itinerary) is scheduled for July 2 aboard the Mystic Cruises-owned boat Douro Elegance. A 4-day Lisbon shore tour extension is also available.

All passengers boarding Riviera's cruise ships are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or present a negative test before the sailing.

Riviera River Cruises' guests benefit from its flexible customer care policies and its health & safety practices. Included in the flexible customer care policies are COVID cancellation, curtailment protection, and happiness guarantee. If a passenger is not able to sail due to COVID-19, the booking is transferred to another departure date for free with 24 hours’ notice. If a passenger has to cut their holiday short due to COVID-19 and a travel insurer does not cover it, Riviera provides compensation for the missed portion of the voyage. And if a guest is not happy by the 2nd day of their trip, Riviera assists in bringing them back home with a full refund.

Riviera’s health & safety practices include requiring passengers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or to present a negative test before the sailing. If there is a cost for a COVID test, Riviera pays it.

Riviera River Cruises provides 20 itineraries on ten rivers and waterways, of which dedicated departures for solo travellers with no single supplement.
