NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line announced it is canceling a 2nd ship that was scheduled to sail from outside the USA this summer.

Scheduled voyages from the Dominican Republic aboard NCL Norwegian Gem are canceled on sailings between August 15-October 10, 2021.

The company was originally going to set sail with 3 liners outside of the United States:

NCL Norwegian Jade from Piraeus-Athens Greece

NCL Norwegian Joy from Montego Bay Jamaica

NCL Norwegian Gem from La Romana (Punta Cana) Dominican Republic

NCL Norwegian Gem cruise ship

Sailings on Norwegian Joy were canceled last week, leaving just JADE to sail from Greece.

In an email sent to passengers booked on the GEM, the line announced the time required to get the vessel ready and the desire for Americans to sail out of local ports had driven the change.

JOY's cruises were canceled so that the liner could be redeployed to Alaska.
