One of the world's largest river cruise shipowners, Uniworld celebrated the christening of its newest super ship SS Sao Gabriel, which made her debut on the Douro River.

On Sunday, June 27, Uniworld's CEO Ellen Bettridge was aboard to officially name the new riverboat with godmother Joke De Bruyn - Uniworld's longstanding employee and the company's Director of Hotel Operations.

Sunday’s launch of SS Sao Gabriel in Portugal occurred days after Uniworld celebrated its return to Europe’s rivers with the first post-COVID sailing aboard SS La Venezia from Venice Italy on June 20.

Next to resume are itineraries in France and Central Europe, starting in July.
