P&O Australia extending suspension of cruises through February 14, 2022

Since no green light has been yet received for domestic resumption of cruises, P&O Australia has extended their pause until 2022 - a month-long from the previous one.

Instead of January 15, the suspension applies to departures scheduled to run through/including February 14, 2022.

Sture Myrmell (P&O Australia President) said the company is disappointed for their "guests and many suppliers to have to extend the pause in operations by a further month."

"With the rapid reopening of the partnership, including social gatherings and travel just a few weeks away, there is a vital need for a path for the phased resumption of domestic cruises. Our passengers have made it clear that they want to cruise again and we look forward to welcoming them on board as soon as possible backed by comprehensive protocols based on the world's best practices and public health standards.”

Passengers whose bookings have been affected will be notified of the options available to them.

P&O Australia has already announced its intention to restart operations with fully vaccinated guests and crew. The fleet is currently scheduled to restart passenger shipping with the boats Pacific Encounter (Feb 15/from Brisbane QLD), Pacific Adventure (Feb 17/from Sydney NSW) and Pacific Explorer (Feb 18/from Adelaide).
