Virgin Islands Police Department (V.I.P.D.) announced on Sunday, September 3, that the 26-year-old female passenger who went missing in St Thomas USVI on Thursday, August 31, after deboarding Carnival Splendor, was found.

On Sunday at 11:05 a.m., 26-year-old Regina Gilliam has approached a V.I.P.A. officer at Cyril E. King Airport and has identified herself as the missing passenger from Carnival Splendor. The officer verified that she was indeed Ms.Gilliam, and notified 911.

Ms.Gilliam was interviewed by V.I.P.D. Investigations Bureau as part of the standard procedures for missing persons.

She was last seen disembarking the Carnival ship at 8:19 a.m. on Thursday. The woman was reported missing after the vessel departed Charlotte Amalie Harbor.

A post on an article in Virgin Islands newspaper said she was "kidnapped by gun point somewhere close to where it docked." However, this information has not been confirmed.
