Lillesand is a town and municipality located in Aust-Agder county, Norway. Lillesand is part of the traditional Sorlandet district. The municipality's administrative center is the city of Lillesand. Lillesand city was established as a municipality on January 1, 1838. On January 1, 1962 the rural municipalities of Hovag and Vestre Moland, the Gitmarkgardene area of Eide and the town of Lillesand were merged to form a brand new, enlarged Lillesand municipality.
The Norwegian National Park Skjærgardsparken is located between Risor and Lillesand. Skjærgardsparken, meaning "the Park of Archipelago" is a true paradise of islands, rocks and skerries. Blindleia is a 12 km Inland waterway between Ulvoysund and Lillesand with plenty of small boat traffic in the summer. Brekkesto village is a tourist area on Justoya island. Lillesand Town- and Maritime Museum is a culture historic museum, situated in the centre of the city. The museum is also named Carl Knudsen-garden.
