Lyngseidet (also called Ivgumuotki, Northern Sami and Yykeänmuotka, Kven) is the administrative centre of Lyngen municipality, located in Troms county, Norway. The village of Lyngseidet covers a total area of approx 0,84 km2 (0,32 ml2) and has a population of around 820 people (2013 census), which gives a population density of 970 inhabitants per km2 (2,500/ml2).
- Lyngseidet is situated on an isthmus which is around 3 km (1,9 ml) wide between an arm of Ullsfjorden and Lyngenfjorden.
- Lyngseidet lies 15 km (9,3 ml) north of Furuflaten village and 12 km (7,5 ml) by ferry from Olderdalen, in Kafjord.
- The village of Lyngseidet is home to Lyngen Church, a grocery store, nursing home, daycare, library and schools. The plastic Santa Claus called Gollis is also located there.
