Skarsvag is a port village on Mageroya Island, part of Nordkapp Municipality (Finnmark county, Norway), with population under 200. This is Europe's northernmost settlement - located only 14,5 km (9 ml) from Nordkapp (North Cape).
- The village is on Mageroya Island's northern coast. The local fishing fleet mainly fishes for cod in the waters located north of the island.
- The village has around 60 permanent residents (the rest are fishermen).
- Skarsvag is also world's northernmost settlement accessible through a major road network - European route E69 - connecting Olderfjord with North Cape. The road has length 129 km (80 ml) and contains 5 tunnels with total length approx 16 km (10 ml). Road's longest tunnel (North Cape Tunnel) has length 7 km (4 ml) and depth 212 m (696 ft) below sea level.
