Veliko Gradiste is a Danube River cruise port and municipality located in Branicevo District, eastern Serbia. The municipaliy covers a total area of approx 344 km2 (133 ml2) and has a population of around 6,200 people according to 2011 census, while the municipality has 17,610 inhabitants.
- Veliko Gradiste is situated on the right bank of the Danube and left bank of Pek river.
- Dacians and Thracians lived in the region before the Roman conquering of the Balkans during the 1st century BC, when the port town was popular as "Pincum", in Upper Moesia province. The Pincum relief of Trojan Cycle depicting Hector and Achilles was discovered in Ritopek, suburban settlement of Belgrade.
- The name of Veliko Gradiste stems from the Serbian phrase "big building site". Names in other languages include Romanian: Gradistea Mare.
