The new RCCL cruise lines menus were rolled out fleetwide (to all RCI ships) over a period of time (2016-2017). Follows a list of our Royal Caribbean menu integrated articles:

Royal Caribbean food menu = deliciously big money

The new main dining room menu is a result of a multi-million dollar investment by the RCI line. A big portion of this investment is for a larger staff and top-notch equipment on all ships in the fleet. RCI is also focusing on dining staff training with a chef certification program by the American Culinary Federation (ACFchefs) and also a new wait staff training program.

Royal Caribbean's new main focuses are freshest ingredients, modern preparation, highly increased number of choices and dishes inspired by the local cuisine of the Royal Caribbean line's ports of call. Most of the provisions are from local (port) suppliers, with “signature” meals by region - Alaska (salmon), Asia (galangal), Europe/UK (mushrooms), etc. The “card of the day” allows passengers to enjoy a different food menu with a huge variety of appetizers, main-course entrees, salads and desserts - and it's an every day deal. royal Caribbean passengers can choose from a selection of 9 appetizers, 3 soups, 10 entrees and 7 desserts each day of their sailing.

  • An alternative to the "main" dining is the “Chef’s Inspiration” menu. This option signifies a 3-course dining alternative with such suggestions, as Chilled Banana, Rum Soup, Roman Vignole Salad, or the bittersweet chocolate souffle with espresso sauce.
  • Another "alternative" is the “classics” menu. It offers dishes, like the Escargots Bourguignonne, Royal Shrimp Cocktail, Manhattan Strip Steak, the classic Caesar Salad. And again - it's an every day dining option.
  • Among the new "upgraded" dessert choices are the blueberry peach crumble, the butter pudding and the carrot cake.
  • The vegetarian diner choices are this time really much more than a salad, steamed vegetables or some no-meat soup. Think of tortillas filled with grilled vegetables, artichoke-filled crepes with fontina, Greek vegetarian moussaka.
  • Among the new "healthy food" (low-fat/cal, gluten- & lactose-free) offerings is the gluten-free bread (available on request in all onboard dining venues, including in specialty restaurants).

Royal Caribbean "Room Service" menus

Room service is available 24 hours per day onboard all Royal Caribbean ships. It used to be free - not anymore.

Since 2017, Royal Caribbean changes for cruise ship room service a fee of USD 7,95 per order.

  • The new at fee offering is from the "All Day Menu" and also from the room service breakfast menu's "American Breakfast" section (background colored).
  • Ordering "Continental Breakfast" menu items remains complimentary (free of charge).
  • RCCL started room service charging on RCI cruises after March 27, 2017. The new policy was implemented fleetwide by the end of May 2017.
  • For passengers booked in Suite cabins (categories "Grand Suite" and above) the room service (regardless of menus) remains complimentary.

Order as much as you want via the stateroom's interactive TV system or call Room Service for "All Day Menu" orders. Breakfast room service (in-cabin food and drinks delivery) is available each day of the cruise (excepting departure mornings) between 11 am and 6 am.

Order forms are provided in the cabin. To order an in-cabin breakfast, you'll have to fill the order-form and place it on the door handle outside your cabin prior to 3 am. Contact your Stateroom Attendant for additional order forms. Remember that late night service charges are applied for light snacks.

  • Since December 2016, the new Royal Caribbean room service menu includes a mix of Continental (free), American Breakfast (at fee USD 8)  and a la carte breakfast items, as well as sample dishes from specialty restaurants onboard, which passengers pay for. Complimentary starters, entrees, sandwiches and desserts are still offered around the clock.
  • Pinnacle Suite and Neptune Suite guests don't have to pay for the a la carte breakfast and specialty beverages.
  • Among the specialty restaurants that are included in the menu are Pinnacle Grill, Tamarind and Dive In Burgers. From Tamarind menu, diners are free to choose between a Seafood, Vegetarian or Land and Sea bento box at USD 9.75 a piece. Dive In pampers with various burgers served with fries, and each costs USD 4.95. On Pinnacle Grill menu, a steak dish is purchased for USD 15 and lobster for USD 20.
  • Until the introduced in March 2017 American Breakfast at-fee menu, sample complimentary option was a scrambled egg dish comming with hash browns and breakfast meats. Not anymore.
  • Other dishes which still cost money include steak and eggs (USD 9.50), smoked salmon benedict (USD 7.50), and fruit smoothie with Greek yogurt (USD 4.95).
  • A kids' menu also offers chicken tenders, mac & cheese, peanut butter and jelly, as well as other snacks free of charge.

Cruise ship Room Service menu ordering AT FEE (USD 8 per order)

Follows the list of "American Breakfast" room service menu items which ordering requires the new USD 8 fee.

  • "Eggs Your Way" - scrambled (scrambled, scrambled egg whites, scrambled egg beaters), omelettes (plain, hem and cheese), fried eggs (sunny-side up, over medium, over hard)
  • "Buttermilk Pancakes" - plain, blueberry, with maple syrup, with sugar-free maple syrup)
  • Sides - Hash Browns, Bacon (3 per order), Pork Sausage (2 per order), Chicken Sausage (2 per order).

Royal Caribbean new menu choices

While RCL offers numerous complimentary dining options, you should  at least once take advantage of the intimate specialty dining experiences of the RCI's fine restaurants (available on select ships). Your RCCL "fine dining" options onboard include:

  • "Chops Grille" ($30 PP service charge) - premium steaks and best seafood choices.
  • "Portofino" ($20 PP charge) - Italian menu with signature European classic favorites.
  • "Chef's Table" ($95 PP, 12-16 guests capacity, depending on ship) - a five-course "gourmet dining tour" (wine is included, but wine selection vary by ship). Available on all Oasis-class ships, also on Radiance and Splendor, you can make reservations on board (based on availability).

Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas is completely changing the way dinner is served on board. The innovative new dining concept is revolutionizing cruise dining experience.

Dynamic Dining basics are simple: there are no more main dining rooms, no formal nights and no set times to eat. Instead, passengers get 5 complimentary restaurants like Chick, Silk, American Icon Grill, and 13 specialty restaurants (Wonderland, Michael's Genuine Pub, Jamie's Italian), they can choose from. Dynamic Dining gives guests flexibility, new dinner options and choices with less formality as each night, they pick the restaurant and time to eat dinner.

While formal nights were removed, guests can still get a formal night experience in The Grande Restaurant, where every night is a formal night. And to help picking restaurants, Royal Caribbean developed an app allowing travelers to pick where and when they want to eat, as well as alerting them when the reservation time or restaurant conflicts with their agenda - alternatives are suggested.
