18 November 2019 | Other Incidents On November 18, 2019, the State of Qatar signed with MSC Cruises (shipowner) a 3-week charter agreement for two vessels to be used as floating hotels accommodating fans during FIFA World Cup 2022 - international football championship to be hosted in Qatar between November 21 and December 18 (2022). Qatar's charter deal with MSC was for MSC Europa (2022-built) and MSC Poesia (2008-built). Both ships were booked for 3-week berthing at Port Doha, with shuttle bus service connecting to Doha Metro. |
