MV Hondius cabins review
Hondius has a total of 82 passenger cabins accommodating 2, 3, or 4 guests. The staterooms span multiple categories, including 6 Balcony Grand Suites (27 m2), 8 French Balcony Junior Suites (19–20 m2), and various Panoramic Window and Porthole Window cabins offering double, triple, or quadruple occupancy. The previously available Janssonius Suite (35 m2) is no longer offered.
Standard cabin amenities include windows (some opening), a double bed or two single beds (non-convertible to a double), under-bed storage, bedside cabinets, wall-mounted reading lamps, LED ceiling lighting, and a lounge/seating area with writing desk and chair, LCD TV, telephone, Wi-Fi Internet, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, and binoculars. Additional features include a wardrobe, electronic safe (inside the closet), and an en-suite bathroom equipped with WC, single-sink vanity, shower, bath products, bathrobes, towels, and hairdryer. All cabins are fitted with individually controlled air-conditioning.
Quadruple Porthole cabins feature two portholes (small round windows), two upper Pullman beds, two fixed lower beds, and a small two-seat sofa. These cabins are designed for families with children or small travel groups.
Triple Porthole cabins also have two portholes, one upper Pullman bed, two fixed lower beds, and a small two-seat sofa. Twin Porthole and Twin Window cabins include two fixed lower beds and a two-seat sofa positioned between them.
Twin Deluxe cabins are fitted with two large (non-opening) windows, two fixed single beds (non-convertible to a double), a sofa, and a small bar table with armchair by the window. Superior cabins feature two large non-opening windows, one fixed double bed (non-convertible to twins), and a three-seater sofa.
Junior Suites offer a French Balcony (a double slide-opening window), one fixed double bed (non-convertible to twins), and a lounge area by the window furnished with a bar table/armchair and sofa/coffee table. Grand Suites feature private step-out balconies.
The initially planned “Hondius Suite” (no longer available for booking) was designed with four windows, a three-seater sofa, one fixed double bed, a coffee table with armchairs, and a walk-in closet. This suite category was later removed by Oceanwide Expeditions and retained only as a promotional concept for the ship.
