Oceania Sonata cabins review
Of all Oceania Sonata staterooms (669 total across 16 grades/categories), all feature step-out balconies, and approximately 30% are top-tier suites.
With MS Sonata, Oceania Cruises introduced two new cabin categories: Horizon Suites (positioned between the Penthouses and Oceania Suites) and Penthouse Deluxe Suites (the fleet’s largest Penthouses). Both categories are designed with separate living rooms and bedrooms, walk-in wardrobes, and oversized terraces, offering enhanced space, comfort, and a residential feel suited for longer voyages.
Also significantly reimagined and expanded were the Owner’s Suites (each featuring two full bedrooms and sweeping views), the Vista Suites (large aft-facing staterooms with generous indoor spaces and balconies), the Oceania Suites (spacious interiors with separate living and sleeping areas), and the Standard Penthouses (now paired with the larger Deluxe Penthouses).
MS Sonata features some of the world’s largest cruise accommodations—the aft-facing Owner’s Suites. Each measuring approximately 205–223 m2 (2,200–2,400 ft2 including terrace), these suites span the full width of the ship and include expansive wraparound balconies furnished with premium garden furniture for alfresco dining and relaxation.
Owner’s, Vista, and Oceania Suites feature a separate bedroom (king bed with luxury linens and walk-in closet), balcony (with whirlpool bath and resort-style lounge furniture), master bathroom (whirlpool bathtub and shower stall), guest bathroom (shower), living room (three HDTVs, Bose sound system, vanity, plush seating, dining area, mini-bar with unlimited drinks and water), entrance foyer, music room with sea views, and HDTVs (three in Owner’s Suites, two in Vista Suites).
All Suites feature walk-in closets.
Balcony staterooms (including all Suites) have private teak verandas furnished with premium lounge furniture.
Guests in all staterooms, regardless of category, enjoy the following standard amenities and complimentary services: custom-made Tranquility Beds (queen-size convertible to twins, Prestige Tranquility mattress, large under-bed storage, 1,000-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens), oversized bathrooms (marble or granite finishes, wall-mounted toilet, single vanity, bathtub), sitting area (mirrored vanity or writing desk, dining table, sleeper sofa), mini-bar (refrigerator stocked with unlimited soft drinks and bottled water—still and sparkling Vero Water—replenished daily), stationery, bathroom amenities (shower with Grohe showerhead, handheld hairdryer, thick cotton robes and slippers, plush towels, Aquamar brand toiletries), electronic safe and life jackets (in the closet), direct-dial satellite phone, smart HDTV (interactive system with internet access and on-demand movies), nightly turndown service (Belgian chocolates), twice-daily housekeeping, 24-hour room service, power outlets (110/220V), and dedicated butler service.
Additional complimentary perks for guests in Concierge Veranda/Balcony cabins and all Suites include upgraded cabin and bath amenities, such as:
- priority services including embarkation, check-in, luggage delivery, packing and unpacking (upon request), in-cabin dining (including specialty restaurant menus and lunch/dinner selections from the Main Dining Room), shoeshine, laundry service (up to three bags per cabin), and priority dining and shore excursion reservations
- welcome gifts (fruit, flowers, a bottle of sparkling wine, and an Oceania-branded tote bag)
- exclusive Suite and Concierge Lounge access (Deck 9 midship) and unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace
- deluxe bath products (Bulgari gift set), cashmere blankets (for balcony use), iPad (upon request), media center/library access, and evening canapés
- assistance with ashore reservations (dining and entertainment)
- laptop use (Wi-Fi access and internet packages at discounted rates)
Top-tier suites (Owner’s, Vista, Oceania, and Horizon categories) are additionally equipped with illy coffee machines.
