Sunflower Kurenai ferry cabins and suites

As standard amenities, all Sunflower Kurenai staterooms (さんふらわあ くれない ステートルーム) feature lower and upper beds (some also offer Japanese-style futons), HDTV (including a drone ship tour), free Wi-Fi, a mirrored writing desk with chair, power outlet, wall-mounted lighting, and a bedside air purifier.

Superior and higher-category cabins also include nightwear/pajamas, slippers, toothbrushes, tissues, deodorant spray, bath mat, towels (bath, face, and service), a trash can, shoehorn, and additional toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, and body soap).

Deluxe and higher-category cabins also include tea sets and bottled mineral water.

With the cruise ships Kurenai and Murasaki, MOL Ferries (via Ferry Sunflower Ltd) introduced the world’s—and Japan’s—first “connecting stateroom,” combining a Japanese-style room with a Western-style room. This unique accommodation is specifically designed for families and multi-generational travelers.

Sunflower Kurenai cabins are available in the following categories: Suite, Connecting Suite (Japanese-style room interconnected with a Western-style Semi-Suite), Semi-Suite Connect (Western-style room), Deluxe Cabin, Connecting Deluxe Cabin (Deluxe room plus Japanese-style Semi-Deluxe room), Superior (Single/1-bed and Double/twin beds), Standard and Private cabins (Single and Double), as well as Group Cabins (Japanese-style rooms with multiple beds), Bed Group Cabins (quads with 4 berths), and Pet Cabins.

All Suite accommodations are located on Deck 8 and (except the Barrier-Free Suite) each features a private step-out balcony. The terrace (accessed via sliding floor-to-ceiling glass doors) is furnished with two deckchairs and a small table.

30x Superior Single cabins (inside/without window) are fitted with a single bed and a refrigerator.

26x Superior Twin cabins (inside/without window) are fitted with twin beds and a refrigerator.

4x Private Twin cabins (inside/without window) are fitted with twin beds.

4x Private Single Twin cabins (inside/without window) are fitted with a single bed and a sofa bed. A total of 18x Private Single cabins (inside/without window) have a single bed (for 1 person). Private Single rooms have an internal key only (cannot be locked from the outside).

17x Private Bed Group cabins (inside/without window, capacity 4-6 passengers) are fitted with two-tier bunk beds. Of these, 16 are quads (for 4 passengers), and 1 cabin accommodates 6 passengers (with a sofa bed). Bed Group cabins are Japanese-style rooms with an internal key only (cannot be locked from the outside).

15x Private Bed cabins (inside shared rooms, capacity 16 passengers, also known as “Fish Sleeping Rooms”) are fitted with stair-type bunk beds.

5x Japanese-style Group Rooms (capacity 3-4 passengers) are fitted with futon bedding.

Each of the 89x Standard Single cabins (for truck drivers) is fitted with a single bed (for 1 person).
