Sunflower Satsuma ferry cabins review

As standard amenities, all Sunflower Satsuma staterooms (さんふらわあ さつま ステートルーム) provide lower and upper beds (some have Japanese-style futons), HDTV (the video content includes real-time Bridge Camera views), free WiFI, mirrored writing table with a chair, refrigerator, wall-mounted lights, bedside power outlets and an air purifier. Slippers and toiletries are provided complimentary.

Superior and above category cabins are additionally provided with nightwear/pajamas, toothbrushes, tissues, deodorant spray, bath mat, towels (bath, face, service), trash can, shoehorn, and more toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body soap).

Deluxe and above categories also receive tea sets and bottled mineral water.

Sunflower Satsuma cabins are in the following categories - Suite, Deluxe Cabin, Superior Cabin (Single/1-bed, and Double/twin beds), Standard Single, Private Single, Private Bed, as well as Group Cabins (Japanese-style rooms with multiple beds/folding mattresses), Bed Group Cabins (quads with 4 berths) and Pet Cabins (quad with beds and sleeping sofa).

On Sunflower Satsuma was introduced Ferry Sunflower company's Suite category. The ship has a total of 12x Suites (all on Deck 8 forward) of which 2x are handicapped/wheelchair-accessible. Standard Suites are sized 23 m2 and with a 9 m2 step-out balcony. Each of the two Barrier-Free Suites is sized 30 m2 and has a large round window. All Suites have en suite bathrooms with whirlpool bathtubs.

All Suite accommodations are grouped on Deck 8 and (except the Barrier-Free Suite) each features a private, step-out veranda. The terrace (accessed via slide-opening floor-to-ceiling door windows) and is furnished with two deckchairs and a small table.

スイート 洋室 (Deck 8) 10x Suites (capacity 2-3 people) are Western-style Rooms (size 23 m2 indoor + 9 m2 outdoor/balcony) and accommodate a total of 30 passengers.

スイート(バリアフリー) 洋室 (Deck 8) 2x Barrier-Free Suites (capacity 2-4 people) are Western-style Rooms (size 30 m2) and accommodate a total of 8 passengers.

デラックス (Deck 7) 40x Deluxe Cabins include 38x Deluxe Western-style Rooms (洋室・/size 14 m2) plus 2x Deluxe Japanese-style Rooms (デラックス (和室)/size 20 m2). Each has capacity 2-5 people and they accommodate a total of 200 passengers. All deluxe cabins are outside (with a window) and with a convertible sofabed.

デラックス( ウィズペット)(Deck 7) 10x Deluxe With Pet Rooms (capacity 2-4 people, size 17 m2) are all outside (with a large window) and accommodate a total of 40 passengers.

All Deluxe Rooms can accommodate a total of 240 passengers.

スーペリア (Deck 7) 32x Superior Rooms (capacity 1-2 people, size 8 m2) accommodate a total of 64 passengers. Superior Rooms are all doubles (single bed + chair bed) and inside (without windows).

プライベートシングル (Deck 7) 2x Private Single Rooms (1x for 7 people/size 32 m2, 1x for 9 people/size 40 m2) accommodate a total of 16 passengers. Each cabin provides TV, power outlet, slippers. Private Single cabins are with an internal key only (can't be locked from the outside).

プライベートベッド (Deck 7) 11x Private Bed Rooms (capacity 16 people, size 31 m2) and 4x Private Bed Group Rooms (capacity 4 people) accommodate a total of 192 passengers. Each sleeping space is fitted with a reading light and outlet. Group Rooms are with a TV, washbasin, slippers. Private Bed are inside shared rooms fitted with stair-type/tiered bunk beds and a TV. Private Bed Group rooms are several capsules in a shared room in which the beds are separated by accordion curtains.

The ship's cheapest accommodations are the Tourist Rooms (ツーリスト). Those include 2x Tourist Barrier-Free Rooms (ツーリスト(バリアフリー)/ Japanese-style group sleeping rooms, capacity 14 people, size 31 m2, with futon bedding and partition curtains) and 4x Tourist Rooms (ツーリスト/capacity 14-18 people, size 29-38 m2).

Tourist Rooms are on Deck 6 (1x for 15 people, 1x for 14 people) and on Deck 7 (1x for 18 people and 1x for 14 people), as well as 2x Barrier-Free Rooms (for 14 people, on Deck 7) accommodate a total of 100 passengers. Each sleeping space is fitted with a reading light and outlet, with partition curtains (for privacy) and with a shared TV.

(Deck 6) 75x Standard Single/Truck Driver Rooms are with single occupancy (1 bed), washbasin only, power outlet, TV, slippers.

Private Rooms are shared cabins with 1-bed "booths" separated by walls and fitted with sliding accordion curtains for privacy. The entrance door is locked with a card key.

The cruise ferry Sunflower Satsuma has complimentary private showers (available 24 hours a day) as well as three Public Bathhouses (1x for men, 1x for women, 1x for truck drivers).
