MS Empress of the Seas (built in 1990 as Nordic Empress, last refurbished by RCI in 2016, with her most recent refurbishment in June 2024) was the fleet's smallest vessel and one of Royal Caribbean’s two oldest ships—alongside Majesty of the Seas (built in 1992).
Between 2008 and 2016, the ship (then known as "MS Empress" and commonly referred to as Pullmantur Empress) operated with Pullmantur Cruises, Royal Caribbean's brand in Spain. In late December 2020, the India-based company Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt Ltd purchased Empress OTS and announced the launch of its fully-owned new brand, "Cordelia Cruises", with the renamed "MS Empress" scheduled to debut in June 2021.
The Empress of the Seas cruise ship deck plan includes a total of 796 staterooms accommodating 1,607 passengers (maximum capacity 1,910), served by 670 crew members. The vessel has 11 decks (9 accessible to passengers, 5 with cabins), 5 lounges and bars, 2 swimming pools, 2 outdoor Jacuzzis (whirlpool hot tubs), and 6 elevators.
