MS Gotland ferry was launched in 2003 (sistership MS Visby) and is operated by the Swedish ferry companyDestination Gotland. The ship offers the following main facilities:

  • 115 cabins (112 passenger staterooms), all air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms. Bed linens, towels, and toiletries are provided. All rooms (categorized as "day cabins") are located on Cabin Deck 8 (Kupédäck) and are available as Outside or Inside cabins.
  • Main dining venues include the Food Market Restaurant (Restaurangtorg) and the Bistro Lounge (Bistrosalong), both on Lounge Deck 7 (Salongdäck).
  • Conference Room (portside on Lounge Deck 7).
  • Four seating lounges with comfortable reclining Pullman seats: Front Lounge (Förlig Salong / 360° forward views), Economy Lounge (Ekonomisalongen / midship portside and starboard views), Aft Lounge (Aktersalong / aft-starboard views), and Bistro Lounge (Bistrosalong / aft-portside views).
  • Deck 7 also houses the Information Desk (guest services), two kids’ playrooms, and ship entrances (boarding areas).
  • Aft on Deck 8 is the Sun Deck (open-air deck area) accessible to passengers.
  • The ship has three elevators (passenger lifts) serving all decks.
  • A helipad (helicopter landing platform) is located aft-midship on the top deck, in front of the funnel, for emergency use.
  • Garage decks (Car Deck 3 and Car Deck 5) have both lift and staircase access.

Car deck safety procedures:

  • All emergency instructions are displayed in staterooms, on TV screens, and at the ship's assembly (muster) stations. Life jackets are distributed at the assembly stations. Use of elevators is prohibited in emergencies.
  • Passengers requiring assistance should contact the Information Desk (open 24 hours).
  • When parking, apply the handbrake, leave the vehicle in park or 1st gear, switch off the ignition, alarm, all electrical equipment, and headlights. Gas cylinders must be turned off. Lock the vehicle.
  • Take only valuables and essential hand baggage with you.
  • Note your vehicle’s location and garage deck/stairway before leaving the car deck.
  • Access to vehicle (cargo) decks during the voyage is strictly prohibited.
  • Smoking is forbidden on vehicle decks, in cabins, and in passenger lounges.
  • Wait for announcements before returning to your vehicle.
  • To reduce air pollution, do not start engines until instructed.
