MS Fridtjof Nansen (2020-built / 2021-inaugurated) is the second HX Expeditions cruise ship in a two-unit series of hybrid-powered, 1A Super ice-class expedition vessels, alongside her sistership Roald Amundsen (2019).
HX Fridtjof Nansen’s deck plans feature a total of 265 staterooms accommodating 530 passengers (maximum capacity 600), served by 150 crew members, including a professionally trained Expedition Team. The ship has 11 decks (9 accessible to passengers, 5 with cabins) and offers 3 restaurants (Aune Dining Room, Fredheim Bistro, and Lindstrom Specialty Restaurant), the Nansen Science Center, Explorer Bar Lounge, an indoor wellness complex (gym and spa), and a Pool Deck with a sauna, infinity pool, and 2 Jacuzzis (outdoor swimming pool with hot tubs). The Sundeck includes outdoor gym areas and a walking/running track.
The ship is equipped with 4 passenger elevators — 2 midship lifts serving all decks and 2 forward lifts connecting only the cabin decks.
