MS Roald Amundsen (2019-built) is the first Hurtigruten cruise ship in a 2-unit series of hybrid-powered, 1A Super (ice-class) expedition vessels, with her sistership Fridtjof Nansen (2020).
MS Roald Amundsen’s deck plans show a total of 265 staterooms for 530 passengers (maximum capacity 600), served by 150 staff and crew, including a professionally trained Expedition Team. The ship has 11 decks (9 passenger-accessible, 5 with cabins), three restaurants (Aune Dining Room, Fredheim Bistro, Lindstrom Specialty Restaurant), the Amundsen Science Center, Explorer Bar Lounge, an indoor wellness complex (Gym and Spa), a Pool Deck with sauna, infinity pool and two Jacuzzis (outdoor swimming pool with hot tubs), and a Sundeck with outdoor gym areas and a walking/running track.
The ship has four lifts (passenger elevators): two midship elevators connecting all decks, and two forward elevators interconnecting only the cabin decks.
