Review of MSC Explora 6 deck 4 (Lobby-Shops-Casino-Restaurants1)

Deck 4 houses the Forward Lounge/Journeys Lounge (with a large stage and amphitheatrical seating), the Casino (gaming lounge fitted with table games and slot machines), the midship Lobby Hall (24-hour Guest Services/Reception Desk for assistance, Destination Experiences for information on and organizing of land tours and excursions), Lobby Bar, and Boutiques (duty-free shops).

The onboard shops include the first at-sea Rolex Boutique, via an exclusive partnership (signed in June 2023) between Explora Journeys and Rolex SA (1905-founded, Geneva-based watch designer and manufacturer). The shop is dedicated to the ultra-luxury Swiss watch brand and offers for purchasing an extensive selection of models including from the renowned Rolex Oyster Perpetual series.

Another signature retail store is the "Watch and Jewelry Shop" (introduced in July 2023) selling the Swiss ultra-premium watch brands Cartier, Panerai, and Piaget.

Next are positioned two restaurants - Med Yacht Club (Mediterranean-style/portside) and Fil Rouge (International-style/starboard), with an adjacent Galley (kitchen and storage rooms for food and beverages).

The Med Yacht Club Restaurant is a Mediterranean-inspired dining venue located toward the aft of the deck, adjacent to the Lobby and other main public spaces. It features a menu that draws on the regional cuisines of Italy, Spain, Greece, France and North Africa, with dishes designed for sharing and incorporating plant-based, vegetarian and wholesome ingredients alongside a selection of regional wines, juices and cocktails that reflect Mediterranean produce. The interior is designed with abundant natural light through large portholes and offers seating for guests during lunch and dinner service as part of the cruise-included dining options.

The Fil Rouge Restaurant is an inclusive dining venue located toward the aft of the deck adjacent to the Med Yacht Club, serving French-inspired international cuisine and operating for both breakfast and dinner. Its name means “the red thread,” reflecting a concept of connecting global flavours through French culinary technique. The restaurant’s menu blends international dishes with refined French influence, offering a range of appetizers, main courses and desserts, and features waiter service with a curated wine list and a tableside dessert trolley. Fil Rouge is designed as a sophisticated yet relaxed sit-down restaurant where guests can enjoy breakfast items and a broad dinner selection under a refined setting without formal dress requirements.
