MS Riverside Ravel (2018-built, fka "Crystal Ravel") is one of the four ultra-luxury "river yachts" operated until 2022 by Crystal River Cruises. The riverboat’s sisterships are Debussy, Mahler, and Bach, all built to the same design by Lloyd Werft (MV Werften) in Wismar, Germany. Since 2022, Crystal’s entire river fleet has been owned by Seaside Hotels and managed by Seaside’s subsidiary and travel brand, Riverside Collection Cruises.
Crystal Ravel/Riverside Ravel’s deck plan features a total of 55 staterooms for 114 passengers (maximum capacity 169), served by 85 crew and staff. The riverboat has no medical facilities. She features 4 passenger decks, 4 restaurants, 3 lounges and bars, 1 glass elevator (connecting Decks 2 and 3 only), a self-service passenger laundry, gym and spa facilities, and a glass-domed atrium.
Unlike most riverboats, Ravel features an indoor swimming pool (resistance pool, also referred to as an “infinity pool”). Other unique amenities include electric bicycles and a tender platform for deploying water toys (craft, jet skis, and kayaks). These are offered complimentary to all passengers in selected ports along the cruise itinerary.
As an all-inclusive luxury riverboat, Crystal Ravel’s complimentary amenities and services included:
All beverages (including alcoholic drinks) – fine wines and champagne, premium spirits, bottled water, specialty coffee, soft drinks, and fresh juices.
Complimentary dinners ashore at Michelin-starred or other renowned gourmet restaurants (in ports with overnight stays).
A choice of one of two guided excursions per port (from the company’s Crystal Adventures program). The Crystal Active Exploration Adventures program allowed guests to stay active while sightseeing ashore.
Gratuities (including housekeeping/hotel staff, bar staff, and wait staff), butler service, 24-hour in-suite dining (from the Main Restaurant menu), 24-hour room service, self-service laundry (detergent provided), and twice-daily housekeeping with evening turndown.
Afternoon Tea and open-bar service.
Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access for all guests (up to 60 minutes per person per day). For Crystal Suites, complimentary Internet access was extended to 90 minutes per person per day.
All dining venues featured premium linens (by Garnier-Thiebaut), Riedel crystal glassware, and fine china (by Villeroy & Boch).
Airport transfers (on embarkation and disembarkation days only) were provided complimentary, including for passengers with independently arranged air travel.
Guests booking cruise-only fares could add airfare at an additional cost.
Solo traveler fares required a 130–200% supplement based on double-occupancy rates. Single supplements were calculated before promotional savings, were capacity-controlled, and could be withdrawn at any time.
