Deck layout and review

Review of Salamanca ferry deck 8 (Cabins-Lounge)

On Deck 8 are located public facilities (forward and midship) as well as passenger cabins (midship-aft) from 801 to 8142. Truck Driver Cabins (37 total) are positioned aft (numbers 8101 thru 8142) and each room is fitted with 2x Pullman beds. Unlike cruise passenger staterooms, freight driver cabins lack en suite bathrooms and have shared bathing and toilet facilities.

The fore-located/bow-facing Commodore C-Club Premium Lounge is a limited-capacity bar lounge with large, round-shaped windows (providing 270-degree views), HDTVs, comfortable seating (sofas, armchairs, round tables), two exclusive Restrooms (for men and women). The lounge access is complimentary for Commodore-class passengers and at-fee for lower-class cabins. The fee is payable onboard (at the Reception Desk) or prior to departure (online, upon booking). The Commodore C-Club Lounge's access includes beverages (hot and cold) and light food (snacks, hot and cold dishes) which are provided complimentary throughout the day.

Adjacent to the C-Club Lounge are two Reserved Seating Lounges (fitted with recline chairs/Pullman seats).

Taberna de Tapas (Restaurant/Cafe Bar/Patisserie) is positioned starboard and serves light meals, sandwiches, tapas, cakes, pastries, hot/cold drinks. The restaurant has HDTVs and serves tapas (from patatas/papas bravas to traditional regional Spanish favorites) and various hot dishes from the menu. Taberna de Tapas offers waiter-served Continental or Spanish breakfast and (only on voyages during summer) the inclusive 3-course dinner from Azul Restaurant (Deck 7).

Adjacent to Taberna de Tapas is the Exhibition Gallery. On the opposite side (portside) is the ship's second Kids Play Area and Deck 8's Public Restrooms (separate for men and women, plus an ADA-Compliant Restroom for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility/wheelchair-accessible).

The midship-located Plaza Mayor is a large indoor bar lounge serving food (snacks and light bites) and beverages (including Spanish wines and beers) throughout the day, as well as Afternoon Tea (coffee and pastries/cakes). The venue features plenty of natural light (coming from its SkyLight / glass-roof cover) and a large HDTV streaming live sporting events and music.

Two elevators (passenger lifts positioned forward and aft) access all cabin decks as well as the car decks.
