The French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique (fka STX France in St-Nazaire) chose Gasum as the LNG supplier of fuel and technical adviser to perform the initial bunkering/LNG fueling of the company's first LNG-powered cruise vessel.

This LNG bunkering took place on September 10, 2022, in Port La Rochelle, for which it also was the first LNG bunkering operation.

The choice of Gasum as a partner in the preparation/performance of the state-of-the-art delivery recognizes Gasum’s expertise in supporting shipyards performing initial bunkering of newbuild LNG-fuelled cruise vessels.

The energy company Gasum successfully performed the initial bunkering of the first LNG-fuelled cruise ship to be completed by Chantiers de l’Atlantique. The LNG was delivered by Gasum's bunkering tanker Kairos (2018-built, IMO 9819882).

In addition to delivering LNG, Gasum supported the shipbuilder in the delivery's technical preparation, including obtaining the relevant authorizations.

The delivery marks a milestone in the extension of Gasum's LNG bunkering network and underlines the ambition to grow geographically, offering expertise to customers wherever it is requested.
