AIDAdiva diverts to Florida to avoid potential tropical system in the Atlantic

AIDA Cruises has diverted AIDAdiva from its scheduled Bermuda call to Port Canaveral, Florida, due to the threat of a developing tropical weather system in the Atlantic.

The 823-foot vessel departed New York on November 2nd, 2026, for a 20-day Caribbean voyage that included a scheduled visit to Bermuda on November 4th. However, the ship altered course southwards to avoid the anticipated adverse weather conditions and docked at Port Canaveral, where it remained before continuing to the Bahamas.

Following the revised itinerary, AIDAdiva will proceed with its Caribbean programme, with Montego Bay, Jamaica, scheduled as the final port of call on November 22nd. The vessel sails under the Italian flag.

The diversion is among several itinerary changes affecting cruise ships visiting Bermuda in 2026 due to unfavourable weather conditions. In October, Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas and Vision of the Seas were both redirected to Canada, while Virgin Voyages' Valiant Lady also replaced its planned Bermuda call with a visit to Saint John, New Brunswick.

Weather-related diversions remain an operational consideration for cruise lines sailing in the North Atlantic and Caribbean, particularly during the Atlantic hurricane season.
